TECH DECK LEGACY DESCRIPTION
Tech Deck Legacy is a legacy genre game where players play an Olympiad of five games selected from the family of 17 Tech Deck games. Each game in the series has unique game play and outcomes that affect subsequent games. Each Tech Deck game has variations from the original rules for enhanced play. Tech Deck Legacy introduces fun and interesting variants of each of the 17 Tech Deck games, breathing new life into their original designs.
Players either select five games from the Tech Deck family of games, or randomly determine five games. Additionally, outcomes from one game in the series induces effects that alter play in subsequent games.
LEGACY GENRE GAME -
A legacy game is a tabletop game designed to be played over a series of sessions and by various mechanics deliver an evolving game play experience. Game designer Rob Daviau pitched the idea of a Clue legacy game to Hasbro. While it was rejected, Daviau later used the mechanic in a new version of Risk. Risk Legacy debuted in 2011. Daviau followed up with, Pandemic Legacy: Season 1, which was released in 2015. Legacy games are designed to be played over the course of a campaign, usually with the same players, and permanently change over time. They have been compared to tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. New rules can be introduced as the campaign goes on, allowing for the game to expand both mechanically and thematically. There have been many Legacy games designed including Risk Legacy (2011), Pandemic Legacy (2015), SeaFall (2016), Gloomhaven (2017), First Martians (2017), Charterstone (2017), Centauri Saga (2018), Ultimate Werewolf Legacy (2018) and Clank! Legacy Acquisitions Incorporated (2019)
