Tournament caliber decks tend to look alike. Right now, the hottest
decks are all (dark) jedi presence decks. Basically return of jedi/empire's
back.
Get Vader/obi. Deploy on some location like obi's hut. Play some free
troopers. Wait until you get enough jedi presence, sense, and a
transporter card. Then transport to where they have a character, sense
all interrupts and then play multi presences.... I've once seen over 200
pts. of damage done in a battle!
Anyway, here is my deck idea for you. It requires very little rares but
leia and obi (and his toys) help greatly. You need to pay careful
attention to force spending though....
This is my classic attrition
deck. I made because vader kicks all my character's asses! There is
nothing I can do when he is at some location draining for 2+ 1 for
presence of the force + 1 for his saber.
Anyway, what I tried to do was avoid land battles as much as possible.
The key to this deck is wolfmen, narrow escapes, teleporter,
character's with ability > 2 (Leia and momaw nadon a must!)
. Play many sites, so you can force drain a
lot and move too. You will be very spread out trying to force drain.
When he puts a bunch of characters at once at a site or teleport to
inflict massive damage, narrow escape or neibrun leibs out of there!
Since wolfmen can do a general 'react' (not just a force drain or
battle), whenever he starts putting characters at a sitewhere your
woflmen are, remind her to
tell you when her deploy phase is over. After her deploy phase, just
'react' your wolfman out of there!
Wolfmen are also good to stop force drains. When he tries to force drain
'react' to that site w/ Wolfman. After deploy phase 'react' out of that
site! This way you prevent a force drain for 2 force!
This deck needs a lot of force during the opponents turn, so watch out
for jawas! Having beru stews and ONLY using it during emergency
situations where you NEED force to escape is a good idea. This happens a
lot
when you get a high teleporter fee or if he does multiple attacks in one
turn.
Space is a little easier to deal with, Corvettes (only CC's! I hate being
tallon rolled) can usually hold their own, especially with pilot fodder
such as biggs, jek or dutch... I tried playing with hyperescapes but it
wasn't worth it. I would rather horde two cc's with 2 pilots at a system
to force drain.
This deck works a lot better with obi b/c of his saber and lightsaber
proficiency for the ultimate in force drainsy. It's too expensive
otherwise...
Now you can use senses too! (almost automatic to block teleporters)
Oh, another thing I almost forgot to mention! One good trick to pull
with this deck is this:
Usually dark plays war room first. After a couple turns, deploy
a spy on his war room. He will usually deploy a bunch of people (at
least ability 4 to get rid of the threat through attrition) Now neibrum
leids to some other location. Now he has spent a bulk of his forces on
the death star where he is stuck and can't even force drain due to no
force icons on my side!! The only way he can get his troops out is
teleport or
docking bay. Most people I know don't play with a docking bay.
Moral of this example, is don't play with docking bays! Usually you can
get people stuck at systems while you suck away elsewhere.
I once had leia at a death star site. Opponent teleported Vader,
Tagge, and troopers to deal massive damage. I teleported out of there to
tatooine. I had 4 different force drains going while he spent the entire
game, trying to draw teleporters!
There is my deck!It requires careful planning and fore thought. It
definitely won't beat all decks but it is the king of anti-teleporter decks!
Hope, my message wasn't too long but there was a lot explaining to do!
whew!
Anyway, that's why I desperatley need obi... I can force drain a lot
faster using his saber and proficiency. And I need to add senses to this
deck... I tried a couple senses using Boshek and Luke as my targets but
alas, there ability is not good enough!
Thanks for reading,
Hak
Spies don't deploy for free at no bar location but that was no problem in
the game.
The important point I need to make is the wolfmen. Lot of people think
they really rot. But this is the definiton of react:
"Game function similiar to an interrupt that allows a player to respond
during an opponent's turn by saying, "REact!", and moving or deploying
specified cards to a loction. (cards will list details of how and when a
'react' can occur)"
The wolfmen have NO restrictions on their react. This is much like dark
side Dantooine.
So wolfmen are very valuable in stopping a force drain... The only
backdraw is the force required in stopping it and you need multi
locations.

Hak
